from the Algona Upper Des Moines paper in Algona, Iowa Dorothy Palmer Longtime of This Area Dies Dorothy Amundson Palmer, 95, of Algona, died Friday at the Good Samaritan Center. She had been in failing health for the past three years. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Geilenfeld-Schaaf Funeral chapel in Algona with Rev. John Schenck officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Dorothy amundson was born at Bergen, Norway Aug 11, 1879, daughter of Amund and Synva Amundson. She came to this country and state when she was 19 years old after school in Norway and married James H. Palmer June 8, 1902 in Union Township. He preceeded her in death in 1948. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Hilda Ancell, Denver, Colo; Mrs. Neva Nute, Waterloo; Harold J. Palmer, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Lorraine Dale, Algona. Two sons and daughters preceded her in death. Also surviving are brothers Amund Kvestad of Vancouver, B.C.; Olaf Kestad, San Gabriel, Calif.; and Bert Kvestad, Stratton, colo. Three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. |
