Del Leaneagh Services set this afternoon Funeral services for Adelber J. Leaneagh, 67, will be held this afternoon, Thursday at 3 p.m. at Mccullough's Funeral chapel in Algona with Rev. Newton Coughenour, Methodist pastor, officiating. burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Mr.Leaneagh, founder of Directory Service, Algona farm directory publishing firm succumbed Monday morning at Valentine, Nebr. where he had gone on a business trip, evidently from a heart attack. It was also his original home. He was born there Jan 3, 1896, a son of George and Katherine Leaneagh

Pallbearers at the service here will be Gus Lundh, Floyd Holt, Al Missal, Hugo Johnson, Roman Waldera, and Roy McKay.

Mr. Leaneagh grew up at Valentine, was educated there and entered military service in WW I, serving overseas with the Rainbow division. in the army. He was a longtime member of both the American Legion and VFW, and graveside military rites will be held.

Prior to coming to Algona, he was connected with the railroad Journal in a sales capacity. In this area he was representing John Manville products when he got the idea of producing farm directoies, and his first was for Kossuth County, published in 1946. The county farm directory production has since expanded into six states. Several years ago he turned the business over to his sons, Jerry and Larry Leaneagh, who survive, as does a daughter, Mrs. Robert Cowling (Jan) of Aurora, Colo. There is also a sister, Mrs. Ben Berg of Seattle. His wife, Arlouine, preceded him in death in 1954.

He had not been in the best of health the past several years, but his death was an unexpected shock to his many friends as well as his immediate family.

Del Leneaugh dies of heart attack - Adelbert "Del" Leneaugh, 67, of Algona, Iowa, suffered a heart attack and died instantly Monday morning at the Marion Coffee shop. He was visiting with friends shortly after 9 a.m. when he was stricken without warning.

Mr. Leneaugh was born in Valentine and had worked in ranches and for a newspaper here in his youth. In recent years he has owned and operated the Directory Service Co. of Algona, Iowa. At the time of his death he was here working on the Cherry County Plat Book.

Mr. Leneaugh visited here frequently in connection with work on various directories and was well known in the area. He was a veteran of WW I.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter. the body was flown to Algona for burial.
