I have some interesting documents from Jim Aplan, written by his father Frank Aplan that talk about the obituary, discussing what he thought was wrong about it. View

There is also a four page document from Frank Aplan, written by Henry Cottier, telling of everything he knew about Eleonitte. It seems more cousins than me have been interested in this family history. Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4

She is buried in Fairview Cemetery about 1 mile East of Rushville, Nebraska. View tombstone

My great aunt Cherie wrote in a letter to my father dated 1981 "I believe my dad's parents died when he was quite small (Peter and Emilie), and he was reared by an aged grandmother (Elionetta) whom I only met once while she was on her death bed. At the time she was living in the Pine Ridge area of South Dakota. She spoke mostly French - her English was strongly accented - I remember she called me "Ma Cherie". Mother was with her, having taken me along, during her last days. Her death occurred during the early 1900's."
